Our parent leaders, our children, our communities have borne the burdens of the extractive systems that exploit labor at the cost of our wellness and yet continue to organize, fueled by love for community and an abiding sense of justice owed.

This is our Love Letter to Organizing.

PVO has organized a base of parent leaders and brought our PARENT POWER across the State to challenge educational and economic injustice–and we are winning.

Our organizers have walked our streets, knocked on doors and engaged with our people to understand the struggles our communities are prepared to fight. Our parent leaders have led community workshops and embodied revolutionary resistance.

Invest in Our Futures

That’s not to say this work has been easy. Disrupting systems reliant upon our exploitation is heavy work. It’s been long nights, longer days, and consistent obstacles in our way. Yet in spite of it all – we continue to cultivate spaces of healing, Black Joy, and resilience –proving time and time again that when we organize, we win. And we aren’t finished yet!

Justice grows out of the care and the recognition of ourselves in one another. And in direct response to our current political climate attacking Black, Brown & Indigenous people, Womxn, Reproductive rights, Elders, Immigrants, Disability Rights, Public Education, Queerness, Poverty and the Working Class–Parent Voices Oakland is committed to programs, services and outcomes that are bigger and bolder for this next year.

We’re building an inclusive and intersectional movement centering families and communities with the highest need to receive the equitable and high quality child care that we are owed. And we need your support to continue delivering this transformative justice in our communities and across the State.

Invest in Our Futures

¡Y todavía no hemos terminado!
